Overview
Alyngz processes Discord content and configuration needed to provide configured translation, mirroring, and related community functionality.
This page is a pre-launch privacy summary for review. Retention practices should be finalized before public commercial launch.
Information Alyngz May Process
Depending on how a Discord server configures Alyngz, the service may process:
- Discord server identifiers;
- channel identifiers;
- message identifiers;
- user identifiers where required for product functionality;
- language preferences;
- server and channel configuration data;
- usage or accounting information;
- message content when required to perform translation or mirroring;
- attachments where supported;
- voice or audio content where an explicitly supported transcription workflow applies, such as supported audio file attachments.
Alyngz does not use live Discord voice-channel audio for the current supported translation workflows.
“Processed” does not always mean “stored permanently.” Some information may be used transiently to perform a translation or relay. Other information, such as server configuration, language preferences, usage data, and mirror topology, may be persisted so Alyngz can continue operating correctly.
How Information Is Used
Alyngz may use processed information to:
- translate messages;
- mirror configured messages across language channels;
- remember user language preferences;
- store server configuration;
- provide admin troubleshooting and status views;
- support usage controls and service operation.
Clean Chat
Clean Chat can deliver translation output privately to the requesting Discord user. The original message content may still need to be processed to perform the translation.
Service Providers
Alyngz may use external service providers, including AI or translation providers such as OpenAI, to perform translation or transcription features where those features are enabled.
Discord is also a separate service with its own platform behavior, terms, and privacy practices.
The public website may load static theme or search assets from third-party content delivery networks. The website does not use analytics or tracking scripts in this phase.
Data Retention
Formal retention periods are being finalized before public launch. Alyngz should retain only the information needed to provide the service, operate configured features, troubleshoot issues, and support usage controls.
Security
Alyngz follows least-privilege installation principles for the standard hosted bot. The public website is static and does not require Discord bot tokens, OpenAI keys, private guild configuration, or production bot data.
No service can guarantee absolute security. Server administrators should grant only the permissions needed for the Alyngz features they choose to use.
